THE TASTE OF SUCCESS IS SWEET

Bella shah, a sweet maker and a chocolatier, started Bellezoe because of challenging
circumstances. Since then she has balanced enterprise and motherhood to become a successful
food entrepreneur with her own store. She speaks to IFEA Editorial Team about her enterprise.

Why did you decide to start a food business?

From childhood, I attended lots of culinary classes and later on honed my skills by attending
different cooking classes. When circumstances at home demanded that I should start earning, I
decided to make the most of my skills.

What were the challenges you faced when you began your business?

The initial journey had a lot of hurdles and hitches. Stepping out of my comfort zone at the age of
42, made me realise that unlearning and re-learning was the way to move forward when the
circumstances are against you.

From working at a BPO to managing a Adidas retail store. I moved to start catering for parties as my
first step towards the journey to food entrepreneurship. Since then, Bellezoe has seen it all, from
catering to a small order of 40 boxes of kaju Katli to 12000 boxes of chocolates to a reputed pharma
company in Ahmedabad, it has been a memorable journey.

What are the USPS of Bellezoe?

From the beginning our main motto was never compromise on quality and make something uniqye
and different. We make sweets which have no mava and added preservatives, and are dry fruit
based. All our sweets and chocolates are made from the purest ingredients. Customisation of both
sweets and boxes as per client requirements for any occasion is our USP. We innovate and create
new products and flavours every year.

What are the highlights of your journey?

Some of my dearest business memories are:

  • Getting an order for 15000 boxes of chocolates in the second year of business.
  • Being featured in two coffee table books covering women entrepreneurs in Gujarat.
  • Getting a recognition award from GWWI.
  • Starting my first store in 2020 and thus increasing our retail profile.

What are your top products?

We make a lot of products from dates. Our top products are Badam Puri, Super Dry Fruit, Rose petal
Nuggets, Almond Rocco, Orange Bombs

What do you offer for special markets?

We specialize in making sugar free sweets, diabetic friendly sweets and vegan sweets. Our badam
puri, badam pista puri, super dry fruit, Rose petal nuggets, pista basket and few more products are
both vegan and diabetic friendly.

What are your Future plans?

We plan to increase our reach through boosting our presence in other states of India. We are also
planning to enter into the exports of our products to USA and UK.
