PARAMPARA – HERITAGE FESTIVAL AT NARAYANI HEIGHTS
IFEA and SNS Cooking Classes organised Parampara, an event hosted by Narayani Heights from 8th to 15th August 2022. The event was inaugurated by Shri Hitesh Makwana, the Mayor of Gandhinagar.
This week-long festival covered a wide-ranging of activities like a heritage exhibition, food festivals by different home chefs, cooking competitions, cooking workshops and handicraft demonstrations. It was organised in association with SnS Cooking Classes. Among the event sponsors were Gujarat Tourism, Manpras Spices, Aabad Bread and United Farmer’s Creamery.
The highlights of the event:
* An exhibition of photographs encompassing the heritage of Gujarat by Dinesh Shukla.
* An exhibition of art prints by The Heritage Art.
* Demonstrations of Tangaliya and Patola Weaving, Ahir Embroidery, Matani Pacchedi Kalamkari, Pottery and other crafts.
* A photography workshop for cafe owners by Antara Boruah.
* A Chaat and Mithai Workshop by the chefs of Narayani Heights.
* A Chaat and Mithai Competition.
* A Healthy Sandwich Workshop by Dr Harsh Chavda.
* A Sandwich Competition for School Children sponsored by Aabad.
* An Ice-Cream Sundae Building Contest for School Children sponsored by United Farmers Creamery.
* Food Festival by IFEA member home chefs like Rikin and Vaishali Shah (Surati food), Divya Thakker (Kutchi and North Gujarat food), Punita Desai (Charotari Food), Sandhya (Kathiawadi food) and Huzefa Topiwala (Sunni food).
