INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY CELEBRATIONS

IFEA celebrated International Museum Day at Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels Ahmedabad, bringing together a cross-section of achievers in the world of museums, heritage tourism, the arts and crafts, heritage conservation, hospitality sector, food entrepreneurship and cake design/sugar art.

The event was curated by Anil Mulchandani, IFEA founder.

Museums and heritage sites can play an important role in the visitor experience and tourism development of the city. The growth of heritage tourism brings many benefits to the hotel and restaurant sector. Conversely, hotels can also promote museums and heritage sites to their guests.

A discussion about museums and heritage tourism was organised by IFEA at Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels. Speaking at the launch, GM of the host hotel Mr Rohit Mallick said Welcomhotel is committed to promote arts and crafts, and this is reflected in their interiors where there are Morbi tiles, ikat patterns and embroidery motifs, and cycles for heritage tours. They are now planning to open an art gallery in the hotel.
