On 7th June 2022, the eve of Mother’s Day, FEA and SNS Cookery Club organised a full-day Mother’s Day Celebration at Novotel Ahmedabad.
Nutrition Discussion
A panel discussion on nutrition for school-aged children was moderated by nutritionist Manisha Gupta, SNS. Dr Hemant Menghani, Pediatric Haemato Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant specialist, spoke about the importance of adequate and balanced nutrition during infancy and childhood for growth, functional outcomes and long-term health and well-being. Dr Heena Punjabi, a senior globally trained dental surgeon, spoke about nutrition and dental health. Dr Manisha Shah, a specialist in lifestyle disorders talked about following a vegan diet. Nisha Bajpai, a social activist and educationist, spoke about family life and emotional health, with the related challenges in India.
Food Exhibition
The food exhibition had tables displaying various products like cold-pressed oils from Olixir, Gulab Oils, milk products from Jain Dairy, vegan cheeses by Soft Spot Food, ovens by Classique Elements, tableware by Ektra, Food Tech company Just My Roots, etc. The home chef section offered a variety of food like dal – pakwan, cakes, variously flavoured pani puri, chaats, snacks, sandiwiches, drinks and tawa ice-cream.

Cooking Workshops
Three Cooking Workshops were organised by Novotel Ahmedabad and Grand Mercure GIFT City covering Italian food, Japanese food and desserts. Sejal Purohit of Seven Springs also spoke about tea and wellness.
Awards
Mompreneurs who have balanced motherhood and their food business were felicitated during the Mother’s Day Celebration.
Begum Farhat Sultana of Balasinor was felicitated for her work in reviving recipes of the Princely States of Gujarat. Esther David was felicitated for her award-winning book on Indian jewish recipes.
