THE SANKALP SUPER CHEF COOKING CHALLENGE
COOKING COMPETITION BY IFEA, SANKALP & AAYNA

IFEA and AAYNA Cookery Club organised Sankalp Super Chef, a cooking competition with three rounds to test the contestant’s food knowledge, cooking skills, kitchen techniques, and plating ideas.

The event began with prayers in memory of Chef Suresh Khanna, who passed away a few days before the event.

For round-one, about 90 participants showcased their best dishes at the banquet hall of Ramada Ahmedabad which was the venue for the competition. The jury comprising Chef Bharat (Corporate Chef of Sankalp Group) and Chef Vicky (Executive Chef, Crowne Plaza) short listed 25 best entries. The 25 first round winners participated in a quiz of 25 questions designed by Anil Mulchandani. Each of the 25 contestants was given a sheet with a multiple-choice test and a few other questions.  Nine contestants were chosen  by the jury for the final round based on their answers.

The final round involved live cooking with a huge pantry open to contestants. Sankalp’s RTE, RTC and other food products were part of the pantry, and it was mandatory to use at least one of them in the competing dish.

 The Sankalp Super Chef title and trophy was won by Akshi Jain. Jayshree Chauhan was the first runners-up and Anjali Manwani was second runners-up.  Chef Sudev from Taj Skyline gave the trophy to Akshi Jain.

The participants also attended a workshop of fusion food by Chef Bharat Kumar, Corporate Chef of Sankalp Group.

The team from Zydus Hospitals discussed  health issues impacting women with the participants.

Anchor Harita Shah, the Master of Ceremonies, also had a housie game to entertain the participants while the jury was judging the competition.
