Following the Lockdown, FEA started a series of recipe contests which got an excellent response. What was heart-warming was seeing children participate.
12-year old Radhika Mulchandani participated with Strawberry Coffee Jelly in the Cooking with Coffee Contest. 14-year old Saanj Khilnani participated with Nescafe Islands in the Cooking with Coffee Contest.
13-year old Neev Dharmesh Mehta presented a recipe video of Pepper Tofu with Sesame Oil for World Vegan Day Contest.
COOKING WITH COFFEE
This recipe contest was organised in association with NESCAFE. Nescafe Hampers were given to five selected winners.
The contestants could make a video of any recipe of their choice that used any Nescafe coffee product with the branding clearly visible. The videos were uploaded by the contestants on the FEA Facebook Group, Food Entrepreneurs Alliance. This was FEA’s first recipe contest and got a huge response. 12-year old Radhika Mulchandani participated with Strawberry Coffee Jelly and 14-year old .
On International Coffee Day, Binny Varghese who is well-known as Barista-on-Bike and Chef Ankita Chavan selected the following five recipes:

COOKING WITH COLD-PRESSED OIL
This contest was organized in association with Gulab Oil.
FEA invited Home Chefs to Casablanca, a resort on the outskirts of Ahmedabad for high tea. Here, they received a hamper with a mix of cold-pressed oils produced by Gulab Oil such as sesame oil, groundnut oil, mustard oil and coconut oil. The recipe videos were uploaded on the FEA Facebook Group, Food Entrepreneurs Alliance.
The contest was juried by Chef Suresh Khanna (Fortune Landmark),Chef Vrinda Menon (Fern Ecotel Ahmedabad) and Chef Vaibhav Arora (Renaissance Ahmedabad).

3rd Prize | Nikita Dudani | A meal of Sindhi Bajra Dhodha made using Gulab Groundnut Oil with Salad dressed with Gulab Sesame Oil, Thai Curry made using Gulab Coconut Oil and Fresh Salad with Croutons. Made using four different oils. |
4th Prize | Monali Bag Mehta | Crab Biryani made using Coconut Oil. |
5th Prize | Payal Pathak | Zucchini Noodles in Arabiatta Sauce. Made using Sesame Oil. |
There were many other interesting recipes like Pushti Chokshi’s Ghee Roasted Idlli with Beetroot Rasam Sauce and Coral Tuile and Kiran Padsala’s .Stuffed Savoury Dairy-free Crepe.
WORLD VEGAN DAY RECIPE CONTEST
As a continuation of the Cooking with Cold-pressed Oil contest, FEA decided to award contestants for vegan-friendly recipes. The main criteria was the use of oil as a substitute for dairy products in the recipe.
The contest was juried by three vegan entrepreneurs, Bhaskar Sharma, Preeti Kapasi and Panna Bhalla.

FEA COOK-OFFS
This series of recipe contests are organized for the FEA Home Chef Group by FEA Admin Darshan Rawal.
A star ingredient is selected by Darshan Rawal and the home chefs have to prepare a recipe that uses that ingredient.
